This year the Visual Arts Department at Stellenbosch University entered four projects from the Visual Communication Design (VCD) and Honours Illustration students into the Pendoring Awards, and all four students were selected as Finalists in the relevant categories:

  • Malakhiwe Mahlulo (VCD 4, 2022): Digital Applications, Games & Interactive Tools
  • Jess Maclachlan (VCD 4, 2023): Identity Programmes
  • Thabo Ngwenya (VCD 3, 2023): Motion Graphic Design
  • Cayla Basson (Hons Illustration, 2022): Print, Design & OOH Crafts – Illustration

Being selected as a Finalist is already a great achievement, with fierce competition from thousands of entries by all major private and public tertiary Art and Design institutions across South Africa.
