BA Sport Science
BA Sport Science
The BA Sport Science equips you for a career in sport science, sport psychology, research, biokinetics, fitness and health, movement education, and recreation for people with disabilities, sports coaching, recreation leadership, sports administration, sports management, and teaching.
Admission requirements for the BA Sport Science
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or school-leaving certificate from the Independent Examination Board (IEB) as certified by Umalusi with a mark of at least 50% in each of the four school subjects from the list of designated university admission subjects.
- An average final mark of 60% in the NSC or the IEB school-leaving certificate (excluding Life Orientation) for the three-year programme.
- Home Language 50%.
- First Additional Language 40%.
- Mathematics 40% OR Mathematical Literacy 70%
- Physical Science 40% OR Life Science 50%

- Sport Science with English Studies
- Sport Science with Geography and Environmental Studies
- Sport Science with Psychology
NB: The programme has place for 60 students. Attendance of and participation in sport practicals are compulsory.
