BA Political, Philosophical and Economic Studies (PPE)
The BA PPE programme is aimed at those interested in careers in management, the civil service, banking and investment, journalism, the diplomatic service, and academia. Some possible career opportunities include political analyst, journalist, business investment analyst, entrepreneur, diplomat, civil servant, researcher, consultant, academic, conflict mediator, aid worker, researcher, and organiser in a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
Admission requirements for the BA PPE
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or school-leaving certificate from the Independent Examination Board (IEB) as certified by Umalusi with a mark of at least 50% in each of the four school subjects from the list of designated university admission subjects.
- An average final mark of 63% in the NSC or the IEB school-leaving certificate (excluding Life Orientation) for the three-year programme.
- Home Language 50%.
- First Additional Language 40%.
- Mathematics 60%
