Through this programme Stellenbosch University students will be learning with and from incarcerated individuals in Brandvlei Correctional Centre.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11424\" src=\"https:\/\/arts.sun.ac.za\/files\/2025\/03\/thumbnail_IMG_8683-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Established in 2018, the Ubuntu Learning Community (\u201cULC\u201d) is a pioneering partnership between Stellenbosch University and the Department of Correctional Services (\u201cDCS\u201d). It is the first initiative of its kind in South Africa, bringing incarcerated individuals and university students together for transformative, interdisciplinary learning behind bars.
