Deel van die Fakulteit se werk is om navorsing te onderneem wat nuwe kennis skep en ou idees bevraagteken. Die Universiteit het \u2019n groot getal topnavorsers wat internasionaal erken word, en Lettere en Sosiale Wetenskappe is geen uitsondering nie. Ons het 79 navorsers met \u2019n gradering van die Nasionale Navorsingstigting (NNS), onder meer 25 met B-graderings en een met \u2019n A-gradering. A-gegradeerde navorsers word w\u00eareldwyd deur hulle eweknie\u00eb vir hulle beduidende en sinvolle navorsingsbydraes erken.<\/p>\n
Daarbenewens het ons vier NNS-SARChI-leerstoele wat deur die nasionale Departement van Wetenskap en Innovasie (DWI) gefinansier word. Hierdie leerstoele konsentreer onderskeidelik op navorsing oor transformasie en historiese trauma, genderpolitiek, die sosiologie van grond, die omgewing en volhoubare ontwikkeling, en wetenskapkommunikasie. Een van die Universiteit se sewe sentrums van uitnemendheid, die DWI-NNS Sentrum van Uitnemendheid in Wetenskapmetriek en Wetenskap-, Tegnologie- en Innovasiebeleid, is ook by ons gele\u00eb.<\/p>\n
Ons is die tuiste van 15 navorsing- en dienssentrums wat gereeld oor dissiplin\u00eare en departementele grense heen werk. Boonop het ons \u2019n Nagraadse Skool wat \u2019n ondersteunende ruimte skep waarin ons nagraadse studente hulle navorsing kan onderneem en voltooi. Die Skool fasiliteer en administreer ook die toekenning van internasionale nagraadse magister- en doktorale beurse in die Fakulteit.<\/p>\n
