BA Drama and Theatre Studies
The BA Drama and Theatre Studies prepares you for a career in the theatre, radio, film, and TV industries. Here are some potential career opportunities: actor, dancer, director, designer (costume, set, lighting, sound), stage manager, playwright, drama therapist, drama teacher, arts administrator, festival and cultural affairs manager, marketing and public relations, talent agent or casting director, drama critic or journalist.
Admission requirements for the BA Drama and Theatre Studies
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or school-leaving certificate from the Independent Examination Board (IEB) as certified by Umalusi with a mark of at least 50% in each of the four school subjects from the list of designated university admission subjects.
- An average final mark of 65% in the NSC or the IEB school-leaving certificate (excluding Life Orientation) for the three-year mainstream programme.
- Home Language 60%.
- First Additional Language 50%.

- Candidates will be required to complete and submit a Personal Information Form by 7 August 2023 and be available for auditions and/or interviews at the Drama Department in Stellenbosch at the beginning of September.
